A flexible camera on a push-rod or crawler drive is inserted into the drain through an access point and driven through the pipe while recording a real-time video feed. The operator records the condition at every point: joint positions, displacement, cracks and fractures, deformation, leakage points, and areas of blockage. The camera's position is tracked continuously, so every fault observed is known to within approximately half a metre of its surface location.

Smoke Testing

A fast and comprehensive way to find all breach points in a drainage network simultaneously. Non-toxic smoke is introduced into the drainage system through a cleanout access point under light positive pressure. The smoke migrates through the entire connected drain network and escapes to the surface at any breach: open joints, fractured pipe sections, disconnected connections. Smoke appearing at unexpected locations identifies hidden fault points that wouldn't have been targeted by visual survey alone.

Localised Crack Repair

How do you access the drains for CCTV without damaging my property?

In most properties, drain access is available through existing cleanout points or through inspection chambers in the garden. Where no cleanout access exists, the nearest WC pan can be temporarily removed to provide camera access. In the great majority of residential drain surveys, no damage to floor or wall finishes is required for camera access.

White efflorescence on basement walls is a reliable indicator that water has been moving through the masonry for some time. Left unaddressed, the repeated wetting and drying cycle degrades mortar joints, weakens concrete, and eventually causes surface spalling. Can you detect a drain leak under a tiled floor without lifting tiles?
